OUR HISTORY

EST. 1999

In 1999, Empower Me Day Camp was created by a group of pediatric therapists seeking to meet the needs of individuals with special needs. Since then, we have had the privilege of serving individuals from 28 counties, three states, and one international child from Russia. What began as a weekend basketball league has now evolved into serving thousands of individuals with special needs from all over Tennessee.

We empower our participants to lead fun, fulfilling, and productive lives.  Our one-of-a-kind organization offers a six-week Summer Day Camp, an Adult Day Program and other Year-Round Respite and Enrichment Activities personalized to meet each individual's behavioral and medical needs. Our programs provide a safe, positive learning and social environment for children and adults ages 5 years and older.

We provide programming for individuals with disabilities including but not limited to Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Cancer, Epilepsy, Fragile X Syndrome, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from physical or sexual abuse, Bipolar Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Blindness, Deafness, Microencephaly, Schizophrenia,  Down Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis, Smith-Magenis Syndrome, and Angelman Syndrome.
